Leverage "The Radio Job" Review

Some episodes of TNT's Leverage are so good that they become instant classics of the show's storyline. They play each of the strengths of Leverage perfectly, providing side-splitting laughs, emotional discovery, an ambitious con and an explosive ending. Last Sunday's "The Radio Job" was one of these special episodes.

The Party Down Movie is Afoot

The ball is starting to get rolling on the production of a Party Down feature film. The Starz comedy met its unfortunate demise when it was cancelled in June of 2010 after only two seasons. Filiming is supposed to begin this year, with a script penned by Party Down co-creator John Enbom. The entire original cast is slated to return, with the probable exception of Jane Lynch. I don't see this as very worrisome, as the show already proved she wasn't essential during the second season. I understand that this may never come to fruition, but if it does, you can bet that I'll be there on opening night.

"Chuck vs. the Kept Man" Review

With only four episodes of NBC's Chuck remaining, I regret not writing about this show earlier. I don't pretend that Chuck is one of the best shows on TV; it really isn't. It is, however, worth watching, and I've done so since the very beginning. Here are my thoughts on last night's episode, "Chuck vs. the Kept Man".

Community Coming Back This Season, According to NBC

NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt shot down rumours today that the comedy series Community has been cancelled. He stated that the show would be returning this year, but possibly in a different time slot. I feel that this move makes a lot of sense. Although Community has developed a strong and loyal internet fan base, it simply isn't competitive in the 8pm time slot on Thursday nights. The best move for NBC is to try something new on Thursdays that has a better chance to generate mass appeal against popular shows like The Big Bang Theory on CBS. Community will likely be moved to Wednesday night, or possibly sent to die on the Friday night schedule once the final episodes of Chuck have aired. The current small, yet loyal fan base will follow the show wherever it lands, so it doesn't really matter what they do with it. I'm just glad that we haven't seen the last of Greendale Community College. At this point, however, I wouldn't hold my breath for a 4th season renewal of the show. The only chance of that happening is if more episodes are required to sell the show's syndication rights.

Battlestar Galactica Re-imagined into a 16-Bit RPG

CollegeHumor recently posted a new animated short that shows off a SNES era RPG based on the popular sci-fi television series - Battlestar Galactica (the good one). It is very spoiler heavy, so don't watch if you still haven't witnessed the awesomeness of BSG. To be honest, this video is worth watching just to hear 16-bit versions of the original BSG theme, Passacaglia and the cylon song. The hilarious and spot-on commentary on the various quirks and tiny shortcomings of the show, along with adorable renditions of all the main characters, is the sugar on top.

Leverage "The Gold Job" Review

Many things went on hiatus during the holiday season, including Hex19.com. One show that pressed on with no signs of slowing was TNT's Leverage, which aired a new episode every Sunday night. Last Sunday, the show continued its fourth season with "The Gold Job". In this episode, the Leverage crew takes on "Gold to be Sold!", a corrupt gold buying business similar to Cash4Gold. How did it pan out? Find out in my latest Leverage review.
